Create your own background challenge

Ww_background_challenge

Me and my friend Tesa had a scrap date for (inter)national scrapbook day. Well we live kinda far apart so we had a date over the net but it was still fun. My mojo must have gone on vacation because I had a hard time getting anything done but in the end I got two cards done and had a lot of fun while making them.

So this card is for the Make your own background challenge that Winnie & Walter hosted together with Pinkfresh Studios. I made a soft pastel background with jewels on and used one of the new Winnie and Walter dies for the sentiment. The jewels are stamped with glitter embossingpowder for extra sparkle.

I'll be right back with the other card I made for the Puffy Stickers challenge.

Spring flowers for WOW

WOW_with_love

The theme at the WOW blog this month is spring, you should join us and have a chance to win some WOW goodies. This lovely flower stamp called Tropical was perfect for spring flowers. I am in love with this stamp! I embossed them in copper embossing powder and colored it up using Spectrum Noir AquaMarkers. It looks really good with the warm tone of the embossing and the soft hue of the AquaMarkers. I've just begun playing with the AquaMarkers but we already get along great despite my lack of patience for watercoloring. The set I've got has the loveliest of colors and this soft pink is just so pretty!

I got some FabFoil from WOW to play with. It works with toner ink from laser printers and a laminator but I also got some WOW bonding powder and that's what I used here. I don't have a laser printer (yet...) but this worked almost as good. It turned very shiny and pretty compared to when I tried the foil with Stick-it, but that is probably because the Stick-it is just temporary for the first hour or two and the foil did not stick as well to it as it did to the bonding powder. I can't wait to try it with the toner ink and laminator, I saw samples and they were perfect! Foil is like magic to me, just like embossing was when I first started paper crafting. The name Fab Foil says it all, it's foil and it's fab. Just get some!

If you want to try the Fab Foil you can find it here in tons of different colors.

See you soon again, thank you for stopping by!

Hey!

Hey_stitched

I'm running a bit behind but here is my creation for DESIGN in PAPERS this week, I keep going back to the Stitched collection by Amy Tan, the colors are so pretty. I made a watercolor background with the same color scheme and added one of the new PrettyCraftyStuff tags. This one you can use as is, letting some pretty background paper showing through the slits or do what I did. Weave in the pretty papers to make a decorative tag.

Hey_stitched

I added some wood veneer and god thread and called it a day. I don't think it needs more decorating. It's also a great way to use up some of those paper strips that is to pretty to throw away.

Thanks for stopping by!

Everything you do rock

IMG_9345

I got some new Winnie & Walter stamps in the mail last week and I could not wait to take them out to play. I’ve been eying W&W for a while now, loving almost everything they make(everything they do rock, hehe) but haven’t had the chance to get my paws on any until now. Let’s just say I really enjoyed playing with them. This card was sort of a happy accident. I was going to white emboss the triangles and the text but I grabbed the wrong jar from my bag of white-ish embossing powders. I got white puff powder from WOW instead and it looks really cool! It made me paint the background black and now it looks kind of chalkboard-ish. Really cool!

The triangles are another happy accident. I first painted them using regular water colors. and lots of water letting them blend without messing (too much) with them. Then I was thinking I should maby stamp the pretty patterns on the triangles and just put one of the stamps on top of a triangle to try it out. When I lifted the stamp there was a ghost image left. Really cool! So I did the same thing to most of the triangles leaving some as they were and added some wink of stella clear glitter to some of them. Love. It.

Today is my hubbies birthday. And everything he does rock. But I made another card for him, I will show it later this week. Just wanted to say congrats to him as he reads this blog and is very supportive when I need to spend time in the scrap room (both for keeping my mental helth intact reasons and for deadline for my assignments reasons ;) ) and I think he is my number one supporter listening to me ranting about people he don’t know that makes awesome things, new stamps, new supplies, products and other stuff that would make any other grown man cry. Love you darling <3 Happy happy birthday :)

Morning glory

IMG_9332

I was supposed to post another card today for my DESIGN in PAPERS post, with a new coloring video. Well, let’s just say I’ve been trying to get that stupid video up on youtube for over two days and it will not work. I’m not a happy camper right now. But, luckely, I had another card done for next week. And it’s the same stamp. Morning Glory from Stampendous. I colored them pink, I did that on the other card too. I had a nagging feeling they might be blue but ignored it. Then this morning a friend posted an image of real Morning Glory on instagram. They were blue. Well, I don’t care. I like pink flowers ;)

Anyways, I really must get back to writing my reports for school. Really quick post today. Keep your fingers cossed I have gotten my video on youtube for next weeks post. Otherwise I might have gone a bit crazy by then and will probably be computerless. And then there will be no posts at all. I’ll place a sacrifice of some kind for the gods of youtube. I wonder if they like Brie cheeze, I have lots of that...

Faber Castel and Finding Nana

It’s time for my solo post at ABNH for this month and we have collaborations with two awesome companies. Faber Castell Design Memory Craft and Finding Nana. And of course there are some Hero Arts stamps invloved as usual. Lets get to it!

For my first card I used water color pencils in yellow and pink on some water color paper to make a pretty background. I then stamped the typewriter on top of the colored paper. Then I colored the typewriter with Copics, since the Copics won’t react with watercolor and the colors was so light it worked without problems. The typewriter is small and i made sure to be careful not to damage the tip of the marker on the rough paper. I stamped the typewiter again on regular printing paper and also the sentiment and cut out just the sheet of paper and adhered on top of the watercolored piece. I like the combination of Watercolors and Copics. And the washi is so cute!

On this card I colored a piece of Vellum with the same watercolor pencils and made a shaker card out of it. I turned the colored side of the Vellum in so it won’t smudge and embossed a geeting. I used a sheet of shimmering cardstock as background, it’s very pretty! And again, that washi tape! Love it!

On my thid card I used Gelatos to make a background. I stamped and embossed the hello in black and also made some shading with Distress Markers The Speech Bubble paper clips are from Finding Nana and I think they matched the hellos.

A big thank you to Faber Castell Design Memory Craft and Finding Nana!

I also wanted to remind you there is still time to create for the current challenge, the theme is Bokeh. There is a geat prize from our generous sponsor Simon Says Stamp.
