Cardsketch for SWE

It’s been a while since I’ve done anything for SWE Scrapbook but now I’m trying to get back in my rutines and I really had to try this sketch since I made it myself. I will keep this card for a while though because it somehow feels unfinished, maby I’ll figure it out if I stare at it for a couple of days or so.

 

Well pop on over to SWE and look at the other girls creations. There is not two cards alike, I had really fun when I was checking in and saw all the different interpretations. I love how a sketch can trigger so many different ideas.

Anything is possible

I had real problems interpeting todays sketch at SWE Scrapbook until I decide to ignore the circles and rectangle and replace with speach bubbles. It turned out quite good in the end.

I love speach bubbles, they are really trendy right now and I am a sucker for all graphical shapes. These speach bubbles I cut out from a paper from American Crafts and the vellum one came in my Studio Calico kit.

Mixed media

I’ve made this page for a mixed media challenge at SWE Scrapbook, there is a new one every other week. I almost never tried mixed media before, but I hade a page over from making the foundation to an album and felt like playing a bit. The reason I don’t do mm is that I don’t really like it not turning out like I want and all those inks and mediums tend to have some radom results when I use them. They don’t do like I want them to. Wich I guess is kind of the whole point of mm? Anyways, I made one page and was quite happy wit it in the end. I didn’t make it as a journaling page, more of a way for me to let go and have fun with colors.

I hope you like it! If you like mm I would go over at SWE Scrapbook and look at all the inspiration, there are somme real talent to find there.

Far är rar

Today I made a card for fathers day based on this weeks card challenge over at SWE Scrapbook. The sentiment is from a book for children who is learning to read. Far är rar means something like Father is sweet. I used somme polaroid frames for background, they are mounted with 3D adhesive in different heights.

I think it turned out quite nice, It’s masculine and fun at the same time. I love the mustache :)

Today I made a card based on Lillblommans cute sketch for this weeks card challenge at SWE Scrapbook. There was some circles and I cut them out with two different doily dies and a circle punch. I didn’t feel like coloring an image for the card, instead I mounted a flower in the center.

I love the stamp from Simon Says Stamp, you are absolutely delightful. I used a bit to soft shades of ink, I’m still trying out my new Hero Art ink pads. I mounted the cardfront with 3D adhesive on the cardbase made from thick woodgraine-patterned cardstock from Studio Calico. I almost can’t use it because it’s so beautiful, but it is perfect for cardbases since it’s so sturdy.

This is my first sketch ever (well, the first sketch that isn’t just for me that is) So this week I really want to see if you make a card from it, please leave a comment and link to your blog. Scary card?

It’s almost halloween and even though we don’t celebrate it that much here I LOVE making halloween-themed projects. Last year I was guest DT over at Tickled Pink Stamps and got to make lots of fun projects using their awesome Lil’ Spinks n’ Spooks collection. I was totally happy :) Well, I was totally happy when I saw this weeks card challenge over at SWE Scrapbook too. It’s a sketch, and a color theme AND it’s supposed to be scary. Well... I’m not sure about the scary part, litllte witch Tilda doesn’t look so scary. But I liked her with the sentiment, also from Magnolia. I own two Tilda stamps and that sentiment, I guess I’ll better use them now and then ;)

Actually I can see the Magnolia shop from my window at the office. I sometimes go there on my lunch hour to look, they have tons of papers and lots of nice decos. And stamps, lots and lots of stamps. To bad I don’t really like Magnolia stamps, or maby that’s good. I would spend all my money there if I did ;) Now I have to go over there soon, I used my last purple paper and I guess I could use one or two at home just in case there is a color challange with purple in it some time again. I don’t really like purple and I never buy purple on purpose but I guess I have to make an exception.

Scary card?

I made this layout for SWE Scrapbook, Helene made a awesome sketch this week for the sketch challenge and I couldn’t help making something for it. I printed a large photo of my beautiful daughter. Doesn’t she look all impish and cute? My somn doesnt like having his picture taken that much, he always makes a face or looks away. I have a lot more pictures of my daughter who loves having her picture taken. Still I try to make equal amont of layouts with them both but it is a challenge since I don’t take that many pictures to start with.

I could not get a good picture of this LO, I really tried and tried. The large photo got reflections and this is as good as it got. It is never light enough to taka photos when I get home from work at this time of year.

I know for a fact that there are lovely layouts in the SWE Scrapbook blog today, go see for yourself!

I made a  door kept closed with a wooden arrow, behind it I stamped the sentiment and played with my distress markers to get a multi colored stamped image. Fun!

I like that the card turned out kind of odd and I love the green and turqoise combo. It was a fun card to make and the sketch is really nice Go check it out over at SWE Scrapbook.

For this weeks card challenge at SWE Scrapbook there is one of Ulrikas great sketches and you have to use scrap paper to make your card. I dug deep in my scrap paper treasure piles and came up with this card.

It’s a card fun and I am head over heals in love with the pink bling. It’s incredible, it sparkles like nothing else. I’m happy to find a spot for the larger ones, I struggle with finding a good place for them on cards.
