New WOW stamps

WOW_gold_leaves

I designed two of the new WOW! stamps sets and made some samples to send for their retailer training day. I also got some FabFoil that I love so I experimented combining the stamps with foil and it looks so good! On this first card I foiled the Flight of Fancy feathers (or leaves, not sure what they are) and then I foiled a sentiment from Big Words on top. Reheating the foil makes it less shiny but gives it a cool brushed metal look. I added some shadowing using distress ink and details with a white gel pen. I really like how it looks!

For this card I dry embossed the background using an embossing folder. I Stamped and embossed the feathers (or leaves...) on Vellum and airbrushed the backside of them. I added some gold thread and the banner with the sentiment.

For my last card I stamped the feathers (or leaves) first in white pigment ink and then with some Hero Arts ink on top. I foiled a sentiment from Big Words on top, framed it with a die cut and embellished with sequins.

I love that FabFoil <3 The pink is super cute!

I hope you love the stamp as much as I do! I had so much fun playing with them.

Rainbows with WOW

Wow_rainbows_april_maya

This month's theme at the WOW blog is rainbows and I hade tons of ideas involving pretty bold and beautiful rainbow cards. Well, for some reason I ended up with this card instead. It's not very bold but I really like it! I used a new embossing powder called Fools Gold and I think its gold with some pink-ish glitter in it. It's super pretty and with the lace stamp (also by WOW) it looked so lovely I had to abandon my wild ideas and make a rainbow backdrop with the sentiment instead.

You really should take art of this month's challenge, rainbows are so much fun! Hop on over to the WOW blog, there will be rainbow coloured inspiration all month long.

Spring flowers for WOW

WOW_with_love

The theme at the WOW blog this month is spring, you should join us and have a chance to win some WOW goodies. This lovely flower stamp called Tropical was perfect for spring flowers. I am in love with this stamp! I embossed them in copper embossing powder and colored it up using Spectrum Noir AquaMarkers. It looks really good with the warm tone of the embossing and the soft hue of the AquaMarkers. I've just begun playing with the AquaMarkers but we already get along great despite my lack of patience for watercoloring. The set I've got has the loveliest of colors and this soft pink is just so pretty!

I got some FabFoil from WOW to play with. It works with toner ink from laser printers and a laminator but I also got some WOW bonding powder and that's what I used here. I don't have a laser printer (yet...) but this worked almost as good. It turned very shiny and pretty compared to when I tried the foil with Stick-it, but that is probably because the Stick-it is just temporary for the first hour or two and the foil did not stick as well to it as it did to the bonding powder. I can't wait to try it with the toner ink and laminator, I saw samples and they were perfect! Foil is like magic to me, just like embossing was when I first started paper crafting. The name Fab Foil says it all, it's foil and it's fab. Just get some!

If you want to try the Fab Foil you can find it here in tons of different colors.

See you soon again, thank you for stopping by!

Inspired by Sian

Today is my day on the WOW! blog and the theme of the month was to be inspired by one of my talented team mates. I picked a card by Sian Ridley that was so clever with windows showing the pretty background. I just got one of the new background stamps in my last package from WOW, and it is so pretty. It's called Tropical. I used Spectrum Noir markers to color it, I just borrowed a demo set to try out and it takes some practicing. They are not blending like my Copics are but I think that is just technique and I'm getting better. Anyways, I made it into a birthday card since it's my birthday today :)

I was really happy with this card, I loved Sians card and will use this design again to show off more pretty background stamps I think. Here is Sians card that I used as my inspiration.

I hope you'll have a great day. I'm sure I will. There will be cake later today. I even got my own cake this year, I usually just put my name on my daughters cake since her birthday is on Friday. I guess we'll have cake twice this week then. I don't mind at all!

Winnie and Walter playdate no 4 revisited

I made a card for Winnie and Walter playdate no.4 in the beginning of the month. While I had the stamps out I made a couple of other cards. This first one is actually following the color inspiration even though it doesn't look like it since I stamped with white under. There is two different tones of teal/green and red/pink but it looks hopelessly pastel. I hope it'll pass as a less saturated version of the inspiration image. And it's not a christmas card, since I don't have any christmas stamps from W&W. I'll enter this card in the challenge.IMG_9576

Well, this other card started out fab, most of all as therapy coloring while listening to an audio book. Then it went downhill from that. I kind of like it but at the same time I don't. Well, since I already have two cards for the challenge I decided to blog it but not enter it. I think it's because the text doesn't show up on the very loud background. Ot it's just the mess I made when trying to make it pop by adding some white gel pen. Who knows. You can't be totally happy with everything :)

That's it from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with some Art Journaling. I was debating weather I was going to blog my AJ or not but since I use the blog as a kind of creative journal to see all my stuff in one place I'll blog it all in one post and be done with it. I also decided not to blog my Project Life spreads since they are a pain to photograph. Maby when I've done a few I'll change my mind but they aren't all that interesting anyways.

Improvised Christmas ornaments

HeroArtsChristmasJoy

I made some Christmas ornaments using some of my Hero Arts sets. I only own one HA Christmas set and I wanted to try to improvise to stretch my stamps. I used a brush stroke circle for the ornaments, stamped it twice to make the colors pop more on the kraft background. Then I embossed a cicle and some leaves on top of it. Lastly I used another brushstroke stamp to make a reflection in the ornaments. I also used the Stepping Stone alpha to spell out the word joy. Lots of stamps on this cards. And a small alpha of unknown brand. Pretty happy with the card concidering nothing is really ment for Christmas. Gotta love the stretch your stamps classes from onlinecardclasses.com. I guess something stuck ;)

I hope you got some ideas how to make something out of something else. There is probably better ways to make ornaments but this is what I came up with. Thanks for stopping by!

We go together

RevereConfettiPrettyCraftyStuffTogether

I rediscovered there great Reverse Confetti stamps while looking for something else. I had this circle die cut I made for Pretty Crafty Stuff on my craft table and thought they would look great together because of the modern feel. I colored the die cut using Distress ink and used matching embossing powders on a black background to make them pop. It looks really graphical and cool I think.

Tomorrow I'll be posting another christmas card but I thought this could be a nice with another type of card for a change.

Seasons greetings

For the WOW and Ruby rock-it bloghop, klick here.HeroArtsDeerhead

I was in the zone the other night, making Christmas cards and listening to a good audio book. I was going to make one card for a DT post later this week but I ended up making three. For this I used a couple of Hero Arts stamps and the deer head cut file I created for Pretty Crafty Stuff. When I made it I saw it in my head all gold embossed and 3d mounted with threads behind. I love the deer head trend. I also made a raindeer, a fox and a bunny to keep him company.

Anyways, I wanted to frame him så I stamped a background from Hero Arts and just masked the middle of the card using a PostIt. It's very pretty this card, don't you think? I never get my gold thread as perfectly nested as other people do, mine looks all messy and uneven. But I keep trying. One day I'll learn.

Thanks for stopping by! There will be more Christmas in the blog soon. Promise! And I don't even send out Christmas cards, more than to the closest family. But I'm in a Cristmas-y mood lately.
