New WOW stamps

WOW_gold_leaves

I designed two of the new WOW! stamps sets and made some samples to send for their retailer training day. I also got some FabFoil that I love so I experimented combining the stamps with foil and it looks so good! On this first card I foiled the Flight of Fancy feathers (or leaves, not sure what they are) and then I foiled a sentiment from Big Words on top. Reheating the foil makes it less shiny but gives it a cool brushed metal look. I added some shadowing using distress ink and details with a white gel pen. I really like how it looks!

For this card I dry embossed the background using an embossing folder. I Stamped and embossed the feathers (or leaves...) on Vellum and airbrushed the backside of them. I added some gold thread and the banner with the sentiment.

For my last card I stamped the feathers (or leaves) first in white pigment ink and then with some Hero Arts ink on top. I foiled a sentiment from Big Words on top, framed it with a die cut and embellished with sequins.

I love that FabFoil <3 The pink is super cute!

I hope you love the stamp as much as I do! I had so much fun playing with them.

Friendship card

Lawn fawn friendship

Here's a very shimmery card I made for Design in Papers, using two sets of Lawn Fawn stamps. I think the sentiment isn't really grammatically correct but everyone gets the meaning, right? Well, i loved the pretty butterfly from the Flutter by set and needed a narrow kind of sentiment so I grabbed the chemistry of love set and made this. I used AquaTints for colouring, they are very vibrant and the metallic gold and silver are amazing. It's just packed with metallic goodness.

I added a layer of glossy accent on the butterfly (last thing before leaving the scrap room, I have learned the hard way) and it is so pretty and shimmery and fun! And the mat made by a scrap piece of my favourite paper made it even better. I love it when a vague idea turns out lovely!

Hey, you want some fun news? I designed a couple of stamp sets for WOW and they will be released in the June release together with two of Marion emberson's stamps (that are equally amazing). I got them in the mail the other day and they are so wonderful! I can't get over the fact that I made them. I feel like a proud mother showing her new baby ;) I so hope everyone will love them as much as I do. They are called Big Words and Flight of Fancy. Here's a sneak...

Rainbows with WOW

Wow_rainbows_april_maya

This month's theme at the WOW blog is rainbows and I hade tons of ideas involving pretty bold and beautiful rainbow cards. Well, for some reason I ended up with this card instead. It's not very bold but I really like it! I used a new embossing powder called Fools Gold and I think its gold with some pink-ish glitter in it. It's super pretty and with the lace stamp (also by WOW) it looked so lovely I had to abandon my wild ideas and make a rainbow backdrop with the sentiment instead.

You really should take art of this month's challenge, rainbows are so much fun! Hop on over to the WOW blog, there will be rainbow coloured inspiration all month long.

Love cards

Hero_arts_love

I made this card for the ABNH facebook page using my favourite set Brush Strokes by Hero Arts. I recently won some really cool dies from Winnie and Walter and wanted to play with them. I cut out the panel and the holes for the cross stitches with them. I had an idea to make a whole card front by making holes and sewing a pattern on it but I chickened out thinking I would get the last row crooked and that would bug me. I'll do that another day when I have some more time. This was fun too!

I also made this card experimenting with Fab Foil from WOW, I tried to get it stuch using Stick-it but since Stick-it doesn't become permanent until after a few hours this did not work as well as I hoped. It looks a bit uneven but I think that's cool too. But not the best combination. I know Stick-it works with the gold flakes from Indigo Blue and I have those at home too but I haven't found a good container for them yet and will not open the jar until I do. I know they grow and are impossible to get back in the jar ;)

This is what the foil looks like on Stick-it, kinda cool actually. Next I try it with bonding powder and a laminator. Experimenting is fun!

Thanks for visiting, I hope to be back soon :)

Spring flowers for WOW

WOW_with_love

The theme at the WOW blog this month is spring, you should join us and have a chance to win some WOW goodies. This lovely flower stamp called Tropical was perfect for spring flowers. I am in love with this stamp! I embossed them in copper embossing powder and colored it up using Spectrum Noir AquaMarkers. It looks really good with the warm tone of the embossing and the soft hue of the AquaMarkers. I've just begun playing with the AquaMarkers but we already get along great despite my lack of patience for watercoloring. The set I've got has the loveliest of colors and this soft pink is just so pretty!

I got some FabFoil from WOW to play with. It works with toner ink from laser printers and a laminator but I also got some WOW bonding powder and that's what I used here. I don't have a laser printer (yet...) but this worked almost as good. It turned very shiny and pretty compared to when I tried the foil with Stick-it, but that is probably because the Stick-it is just temporary for the first hour or two and the foil did not stick as well to it as it did to the bonding powder. I can't wait to try it with the toner ink and laminator, I saw samples and they were perfect! Foil is like magic to me, just like embossing was when I first started paper crafting. The name Fab Foil says it all, it's foil and it's fab. Just get some!

If you want to try the Fab Foil you can find it here in tons of different colors.

See you soon again, thank you for stopping by!

And here's my project! I love wood grain paper, I've got tons of them. You might say I hoard them. This one was a really nice one with the gray-ish color. It made a great background for my layout. The picture is of my kids playing with their cousin, I just love this picture.

I have used Opaque Bright White embossing powder from WOW! for the wood shape and the cork hearts. From Ruby Rock-it I've used the Country Cookin wood veneers, droplet stickers, twine, Crate 12x12 paper, die-cuts and tags.

The next blog to hop to is the amazing June Goh

Enjoy the hop!
