Super Duper

Super_duper_mama_elephant

I finally got my hands on the cute Super Hero stamps from Mama Elephant a while back, I have "needed" them since the limited edition was released and I missed out on them. I was really happy to see a new set being released. I made this card just for fun coloring the heros to look like my kids. My son was really impressed and for the first time in forever he was really involved in anything crafty and wanted to color them too.

He coloured them like him and his sister and our two dogs. He wanted to borrow some of my Spectrum Noirs for the colours he could not find. Also he added a cat just because his sister loves cats. Sweet boy :)

I also made a card with the three amigos from Mama Elephant, I got them at the same time. They are really cute. I just felt like colouring them up and also experiment with the eBrush for backgrounds. I'm not 100% happy with how it turned out but I'm getting better at it :) Practice makes perfect!

I can't even remember if I used Copics or Spectrums for the amigos anymore. I made the card a while back. I think it's Copics.

So, that's it for today :) I hope you enjoyed. Take care!

Friday fun

I had a bit of fun a while back, trying out some new dies my friend Petra sent me. I diecut a whole stack of the scalloped frame and made a shaker card with them. So much fun! I used a paper with sky and clouds to back the flying dog with balloons. This stamp is so much fun! ShakercardHere is a message for all my Swedish friends. Tomorrow I will be demoing Spectrum Noir Products at CiLi in Papers in Gothenburg. If you are interested just drop in whenever. I'll be there all day long except for between 12-13 because I need to eat or I'll be cranky.

I have prepared a ton of fun stuff to show, I hope I'll have time to show them all! I hope I'll see you there :)

I'm taking part in a blog hop with Copic Sweden, so this post is in Swedish. Feel fre to google translate it if you dare ;)

Card trio with Copic backgrounds

Hero_arts_trio

I really really needed to do some housekeeping and clean up all my Copic Markers and finally I got some cleaning solution (because it's not really fun to spend money on CLEANING solution, boring stuff. Not pretty stuff) because one of the lids wouldn't close properly anymore. I kept the bottle out and thought I could do something fun with it too. I remember seeing Julie Ebersole doing some lovely backgrounds with Archival ink and some kind of alcohol and thought I could try to replicate it with Copic markers. I just scribbled a couple of colors on an acrylic block. dropped some of the alcohol solution on top and smooshed it to some glossy cardstock and voila! Pretty pretty backgrounds! I just stamped some Hero Arts sentiments with Archival Ink on them and added some WRMK papers that I just got (and adore).

Easy peasy and something fun to do with boring stuff. I'll try to come up with some more ways to use it because cleaning is so not fun. And procrastination is my middle name. Btw, the markers are still dirty. And they probably will be for a while more.

Winnie and Walter playdate no 4 revisited

I made a card for Winnie and Walter playdate no.4 in the beginning of the month. While I had the stamps out I made a couple of other cards. This first one is actually following the color inspiration even though it doesn't look like it since I stamped with white under. There is two different tones of teal/green and red/pink but it looks hopelessly pastel. I hope it'll pass as a less saturated version of the inspiration image. And it's not a christmas card, since I don't have any christmas stamps from W&W. I'll enter this card in the challenge.IMG_9576

Well, this other card started out fab, most of all as therapy coloring while listening to an audio book. Then it went downhill from that. I kind of like it but at the same time I don't. Well, since I already have two cards for the challenge I decided to blog it but not enter it. I think it's because the text doesn't show up on the very loud background. Ot it's just the mess I made when trying to make it pop by adding some white gel pen. Who knows. You can't be totally happy with everything :)

That's it from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with some Art Journaling. I was debating weather I was going to blog my AJ or not but since I use the blog as a kind of creative journal to see all my stuff in one place I'll blog it all in one post and be done with it. I also decided not to blog my Project Life spreads since they are a pain to photograph. Maby when I've done a few I'll change my mind but they aren't all that interesting anyways.

Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Christmas in Swedish

For the WOW and Ruby Rock-it bloghop, klick here.InkidoGodJul

I actually have some Swedish stamps too, even though I mostly use the english ones. They tend to be more to my taste for some reason. But I got these Holly leaves (at least I think it's Holly?) a while back because I thought they were so pretty and the text stamp I had for a few years but never used I think. The text says Wishing you a merry Christmas and a happy new year. It's a really pretty font and honestly I found a bunch of Christmas stamps that I totally forgot I had while looking for something else. Well, actually, I rediscovered a whole drawer full with stamps. That is not normal, right? I might need to re-organise the craft room. Again...

Loving Lawn Fawn

I've been excited to get my hands on some Lawn Fawn stamps lately. I just love their cute little critters, they are so much fun to color. I'll post another card on wednesday illustrating me getting a bit crazy with the coloring but that's then and for now I'll just show you these two cards. IMG_9478

This first one I made using the Let's roll set. I love sushi, there is probably no food as addictive as sushi once you get over the initial two tasts. I prefer mine without wasabi though but with lots of Soy. So this sentiment was just perfect :) I colored this using my Copics, I have not been practicing as much as I intended, I got swamped with other stuff. But yesterday I just relaxed and enjoyed some pretty easy coloring and this is the result.

IMG_9480

For my other card I used the Blissful Botanical set. I white embossed the long border stamp a few times and then colored it using distress markers. I wasn't sure what to do next, I loved the result and the sentiments in the set was a bit to small for my card but then I found this hello die on my table and just went with it. Love the background, wish I had given the sentiment a bit more thought. Actually I wish I had one of the Lawn fawn Alphas, mine was either too big or too small for this card. I'll probably get one of the skinny ones on my next shopping spree ;)

I'll be entering the search for a Facebook inspiration team at Lawnscaping with these cards. Keeping my fingers crossed!

That's it for me today. Wednesday I think there will be three posts in my blog and I might squeeze in one for tomorrow so do stop by again for more inspiration :) Thanks for visiting!

Copic coloring a mermaid

IMG_9427

Time for a new coloring video. I colored a mermaid from Saturated Canary this time. I'm just loving Saturated Canary at the moment, they are really fun to color. After coloring her up I just cut a couple of wavey forms from post it tape and sponged different colors over it to make this fun ocean background. I hadn't planned to make a card when i printed her out (its a digi stamp) she is kind of big, not a lot of room for decos and the card is a bit larger than standard size.

Enjoy the video!

Copic coloring video

Today I wanted to share a coloring video I made this weekend. If you have followed my blog you might know I have taken the ECCP Copic coloring classes and got really inspired. I decided to practice my coloring every day, and I have. Well, most days anyway. I'm really enjoying it too. So to make it more fun I thought I would make some videos, just sped up Copic coloring for those of you who are interested in that sort of thing. I usually just color up an image and put it in the pile of colored images (that might come in handy when I'm in a pinch for a quick card), but since I got the setup to record I thought it would be fun to see the progress. And to be honest, I've got this new MacBook Pro and I wanted to play with iMovie. After figuring it out I'm totally happy with it. It was way quicker to edit the video AND to upload it. But I miss the free soundtracks that came with my old program so it's a bit repetetive. I'll try to find some new music online that is free to use but I wanted to share my video ASAP so I hope it's not to annoying.

IMG_9418

This is the card I made from the image I colored. The stamp is Saturated Canary. I love their digis. I usually print out 4 on a A4 sheet of paper and cut them apart to color one at a time. I carry all my markers in a camera bag so I'll ust pop a bunch of images in one of the side pockets along with the materail from the ECCP-classes and a color sheet where I can see all my colors at once. I'll take the whole bag up to the living room and color while watching tv with hubbie or between dinner and bed time when the kids are happy occupying themselves. Oh, I should mention that the video is sped up 4 times so it took me about 1 h 10 minutes to color this image.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEyyb1w2TT0]

I hope you like it. I'm curious if you would like more coloring videos or more general cardmaking/scrapbooking videos? I'm not a very organized cardmaker so editing the cardmaking videos takes a bit more time than just editing out the parts where I can't find the right markers in a coloring video. ;)

Well, that's it from me today. If you are wondering where my regular wednesday-post was missing this week it's because I'm stupid. My memory card reader died on me when I was going to import my pictures and I was a bit slow and did not realize I could connect the computer to the camera and just get them that way. I'm blaming school, I'm just finishing up my last engineering assignment and my brain hurts from all the thinking. I might have broken it in a few places.

See you another day I hope, thanks for stopping by!
