Sushi love

IMG_7889

Maby you are celebrating Easter now, eating a lot of yummy food and candy? Me too, but sushi is really my favourite food. I loke it so much that I made an entire layout declaring my love for sushi for Hobbyworld. I wanted to try using the Silhouette sketch pens to make some text and I love the result. A great alternative to letter stickers.

IMG_7892

Except the paper and my picture I only used some mist and leftover scrap paper in the right color to match the picture. I love how it turned out!

An angry daughter

IMG_7539

My sweet little girl has a terrible temper, we call her Lilla My as a charachter from the story Mumintrollet. I made this LO based on a sketch for Inzpira Magazine but it didn’t make the cut so I can blog it now. It has some hidden journaling in the pocket.

Welcome to my craft room!

This week we have a storage theme in the Hobbyworld blog and I wanted to invite you to take a peek in my craft room. I love good storage, it makes it quick to clean up after a project and I can find all my stuff.

IMG_7865

This is where I scrap. I’m lucky enough to have my own craft room, well sort of. The desk stretches around three of the walls of the room. One end is occupied by my kids and I will not be taking any pictures of that mess. In the other corner we have a computer that is connected to my Cameo. It’s really just me and my son that are using the computer in here, I like that the kids can keep busy in here and give me some relatively undisturbed crafting time. ;)

IMG_7866

Even though it looks like it, I haven’t trapped myself in the craft room. We have two doors leading in and I ran out of space so we stopped using one of the doors and I put some storage in the opening. I keep stuff I dont use that often in the drawers. I also have storage that I got from a store that was closing down to keep my dies and some embellishments on, I like just spinning it and seeing everything. I also hava a couple of bookshelfs with storage for alphabets and stickers. I also have some binders full of stamps here. There are a lot of random things living in these shelfs.

IMG_7869

I have a great Cropper Hopper storage for my private patterned papers. I sort my papers by colors exept for the ones I have whole series of and some brands that I have a LOT from. They get to live by themselves. I try too keep down my paper collection to a size that will fit in my paper storage, if it overflows I take out older paper and those that I don’t think I’ll use and give them to the kids or to the school. I keep my DT-papers and embellishments in another place.

IMG_7870

This is my storage for my own cardstock, this storage is also from Cropper Hopper. I sot white/grey/black by themselves, brown by them selves and then I have a few colored cardstock papers and they are sorted by color and kept frathest away. All my DT-cardstock lives with the patterned papers in another place.

IMG_7873

This is where I work on an amazing cutting mat from We R Memory Keepers. I never cut as much by hand as I do since I got this mat, it’s so easy when the ruler keeps the paper stuck against the mat. It also comes with some small magnets to keep the paper in place while working. Behind the mat I keep all my inkpads and some smaller things. I want everything I use often close by.

IMG_7876

I also wanted to show you my binder with color samples and other random stuff, I remade it just for you to see today ;) I have a lot of markers, color products, stickles and ink pads and I make my own color charts to see what I have. I keep them in this binder that had clear covers until I got a bit crazy with the washi tape from MME. I used up amost an entire roll but it was a quick and fun project.

IMG_7880

Since I use it frequently I did not put much embellishments on it. I just used some tags and enamel dots to keep it from getting stuck on things when I take it out. I painted one tag with nailpolish since I didn’t have the right shade in my crafting supplies.

Thanks for stopping by to visit my craft room!

Love forever

Here is anothet wedding layout, I made it in Karlstad. I know I’ve been a bit crazy with the gold mist lately but I got it in Karlstad and I fell in love! What can I say, it’s shiny and pretty... ;)

IMG_7849

I’m really not sure I’m all done with this LO. Something is missing but I can’t figure out what... I probably won’t do anything else with it but still not quite happy with it...

Oh, well... This was my last creation from Karlstad. I ended up making quite a few even though I had no inspiration at all for the whole first day. I had a lot of fun anyways and look forward to the next time :)

Snapshot of a scrappers life

IMG_7845

Here is one of my layouts made in Karlstad. It’s also about my wayt to Karlstad the last time I went. I really like this layout because it’s fun and colorful.

IMG_7846IMG_7847

There is some gold splatter all over and I got to borrow some gold chevron washi. I hade a lot of fun making it and it was nice to document the road to the crop. I never ever remember to take pictures when there but these will do. The road to Karlstad is a part of my trips, I kind of like driving and listening to audiobooks while eating way too much candy and drinking coffey :) It clears the head!

You are the apple to my pie

IMG_7842

Tis card is also from Karlstad. I just realised that I hadn’t blogged all my creations yet. I probably was disturbed while blogging and I atually thought I had blogged everything. But I guess I hadn’t so here we go. This was a sketch challenge I think. I fount the sentiment on sale and thought it was cute. It’s from magnolia and the apple is an old Cocoa Daisy stamp from when I subscribed on their kits.

I am going to write a blog post about WOW embossing powders any day now. I got the opportunity to try them in Karlstad thanks to Eva at Ljuva Änglar. They were awesome, and I embossed everything for a while. I really love the matte clear EP, it was the cooooolest thing ever! But there will be a blogpost on the subject when I can get the time. Until then. Try them, they are great. And antistatic. And at a great price! I know you can get them at Ljuva Änglar who has a web shop if you don’t live in or near Karlstad, I also saw them in one other shop i Karlstad but I can’t remember which one...

Knee Highs by Basic Grey

I must say that the newer lines from Basic Grey has been right up my alley. Lots of fun colors and graphical patterns. The twin series Knee Highs and Bow Ties are ment to be girl/boy lines but I think that the colors and patterns are great for all sorts of things. I made a happy card with Knee Highs for Hobbyworld.

IMG_7857

Sizzix is one of Hobbyworlds new brands and I found some nice things in my latest DT-kit. These cool flowers was one of them and I cut them out of vellum and put together lots of layers with a brad to keep them toghether.

IMG_7864

Look at all those lovely layers! The cardbase is made from Bazzils new Card Shoppe cardstock, it’s a bit thicker and has a smooth structure, it’s perfect for card bases. I like the letter size format (8,5x11 inches), just cut it in half for two standard size card bases without any left over paper.

Sketch challenge

IMG_7838

Here is a card made for one of the sketch challeges in Karlstad. I just love the glitter paper! I tried to heat emboss on it and it worked great.

I’ll just keep on posting the things I made in Karlstad this week. I did make a few things even though I almost didn’t do anything at all the first day.

A wedding challenge

IMG_7835

This card was made for a wedding challenge in Karlstad. Ther was supposed to be something old (the stamp, bought the first time I was in Karlstad. Also the note paper.), something new (the metallic twine), something borrowed (I borrowed some note paper) and something blue. I actually won ssecond price with this cute card, weee! I made it in less than 20 minutes, the embossing was a bit messed up but I didn’t have time to fix it ;)

Cardstock and a Cameo

Today I’ve made a layout for Hobbyworld with a short supplies list. I’ve used white cardstock, some letter stickers and some vellum from my stash. I used the Cameo to cut out the shapes I wanted and used mists and other color mediums to make a background that looks like it’s been watercolored.

IMG_7827liten

I wanted a dreamy feeling to the layout, it’s supposed to be a self portrait of the person I want to be. I discovered there are very few pictures of myself, I guess that’s what happens when there are cute kids and dogs around to take pictures of.

IMG_7828

I found a suitable cloud and some pretty feathers in the Silhouette online store. I typed the word can in different sizes and fonts inside the cloud. A tip to keep the small in-between-shapes in the letters in the right place is to put some washi tape over the shape before removing it from the cutting mat. That way it stays in place until you glue it to the background.
