Winnie & Walters one year celebration part 2

Here is a couple of cards I made last week, I sort of discovered a new (to me) technique. I got a tube of Impasto Gel, thinking it was gel medium (I guess it's the same thing but thicker?) and was playing around with it trying to figure out what to do with it. I grabbed a new stencil from Hero Arts that I haven't had the chance to try. The consistency of this stuff is really fun, thick and gel-ish, so I used it with my stencil and it turned out sooooo cooooool! It's like those resist papers that you can buy. Not too thick, really smooth, translucent and it resists ink really well. I found an image on pinterest with a lovely color scheme that I used for inspiration for a gradient for the Gradient challenge at Winnie & Walter. I cut it apard and made two cards at the same time, can't decide which I like better.

I used a white background, stamping a bold thanks across it with shome chevron. I love the bold sentiment on the airy card.

For the other card I used a black background, stamping the same greeting in silver. I also used some wooden stars that I colored silver to match and drew a dashed line around since I was too lazy to switch thread in the sewing machine. This card I like because of the contrast...

A fun, fun challange fro me who love the ombré trend and gradients.
