Hexa-flexa-card

First a note about the blog. I’m sad to say I had to start using word verifications for you to post comments again. All of a sudden I got tons of spam and I thought I’d try to do this for a while. I know it’s a pain, but I guess it is nessecary for a while at least. I’ll try to remove it again soon. So sorry for the inconvinience!

I also got some happy news! I got published for the first time :) I got two card published in the latest issue of Inzpira Magazine and I’m really happy! Go get it, it’s a great issue with ha lot of inspiring work. I have not had time to sit and really read it yet but while flipping through it I saw some fantastic creations by some of my crafty friends. Loved it!

Today I’ve made a kind of strange creation for Hobbyworld. I even had to make a video to show how it works. It started with my husband showing me a video about these things called hexaflexagons. I have this weakness for hexagons and the video got me interested enough to try to make one out of printer paper. It got me thinking that you should be able to make a larger card-ish kind of hexaflexagon. I tried and it worked, behold the hexa-flexa-card.

The thing about the hexaflexagons is that they are more complicated than they look at first glance. This is one side, the front? The decorations have to be kept quite flat to be able to fold easily.

This is the back, or is it the front?

But wait! Where did this side come from??? The hexa-flexa-card is kind of flat... This is tricky! To make it even more strange the sides does not look the same every time they apere. To show you how it works I made a short video. If you are interested in the origins of the hexaflexagon you can check out the video that inspired me here.

I hope you’ll take part in this weeks challenge at Hobbyworld, you have until midnight to get ready. You can find all the details here.

Vilket fantastiskt kort! Precis min typ! :-) Får nästan tillbaka lite inspiration och lust att gå och skapa lite (vilket jag inte haft på hela hösten). Gillar dessutom hexagoner...

Today the Chibitronics team has the great pleasure to collaborate with Waffle Flower . They make the most unique stamps, and I fell in love ...
